I've found that it's too loud for my voice to handle, and I finger pick a lot so I just don't want to deal with picking up-putting down- (and most likely loosing) a guitar pick. :)MICHELLE ERFURT, MT-BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17246862396394126978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7490744337390850638.post-87844081481179345982011-04-22T09:09:52.770-04:002011-04-22T09:09:52.770-04:00As a person whose main instrument was classical gu...As a person whose main instrument was classical guitar in college, I am absolutely clueless when it comes to using a pick. In fact, when I bought my acoustic guitar a couple of years ago, it was a problem, because it tears my guitar picking nails to shreds! Ack!

Two things, though: Thing #1 is that I work with a lot of people who would eat a pick if I dropped it (and I think we'd agree that would be very bad). Thing #2 is that James Taylor is doing a whole video guitar lessons thing, and one of his first lessons was about how he reinforces his nails (so he can play acoustic/steel string guitars without destroying his nails). Neato! I know I would lose A LOT of them if I did! :)Amanda Ellis, MT-BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17853135830235616260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7490744337390850638.post-25879964029515689952011-04-21T11:21:13.855-04:002011-04-21T11:21:13.855-04:00Good topic, Amanda! It's also easier that way when working with children, since we're constantly picking up and putting back down our guitars to use our hands otherwise. However, I teach my guitar students both methods of playing so that they can choose for themselves which they prefer.Rachel Rambachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11736981779249621711noreply@blogger.com
